When you’re the one everyone relies on, who supports you?

You spend your days and nights caring for others.

You stay calm in difficult situations, make impossible decisions, comfort grieving families and carry responsibility that many people never see. You keep going because that’s what you’ve always done. That's what everyone expects of you.

But lately, it’s feeling heavier.

Perhaps you’re emotionally exhausted after every shift. Maybe you can’t switch off when you get home. You replay conversations, worry you’ve missed something, or find yourself becoming detached from work you once loved.

You may be carrying the grief of patients you’ve lost, the pressure of constant demands, or the weight of expectations that leave little room to look after yourself.

On the outside, you’re coping.

Inside, you’re wondering how much longer you can keep doing this.

You often tell yourself your own needs aren't important at the moment, they can wait until there is more time. You'll get round to it when things settle down, right?

You feel guilty for taking time off, you are struggling to process your thoughts, feelings, and emotions, you feel like nobody really understands what you are going through. Especially those friends and family that don't work in healthcare.

Burnout and exhaustion are so common in healthcare, so it is time to look after yourself - you can't look after others when your tank is empty! You matter too!

I get it.
I felt that too!
I'm here, it's time to talk.
